In 1902, Lucius B. Morse purchased the original 64 acres of land that included the famous tower of rock cliff. Over the years, the trails and additional land purchases expanded into what is now 400+ acres for Chimney Rock Park. The park hosts a nature center and many hiking trails, including the famous one that leads to the top of the famous “Chimney Rock”. The site also offers visitors chances to rock climb or boulder some of the trails as well. Chimney Rock park is a 50 mile drive from the hotel.
