Appalachian Trail Room
Appalachian Trail | Room 306
The Appalachian Trail is the famous hiking trail spanning 2,190+ miles across 14 states from Georgia to Maine in the Appalachian Mountain range. It is known as the longest “hiking-only” footpath in the world. It was brought about in 1921 by residents of the area and finished in 1937. About 3000 people a year try to do the “thru-hike” in a year, and about 25% of those are successful. Today, it is managed by the National Park Service and thousands of volunteers. One of the closest access points to the Appalachian Trail is Hot Springs, North Carolina and is roughly 57 miles from the hotel.
